WHAT IS LIPOLYSIS?
If you have normal body weight and cannot remove small accumulations of fat by exercise, Lipolysis is a good way to reduce its volume. Lipolysis is the ideal method, especially for reducing a small double chin or fat (“hamster”) cheeks. In application of Lipolysis, miniature injections of phosphatidylcholine (PPC or lecithin) are injected directly into the undesirable accumulated fat. In medicine, this injection substance is used as a drug to stimulate liver function in cases of excessive blood fat contents and to prevent the risk of fat embolism. Phosphatidylcholine is a natural product obtained from soya beans and is also produced in the body. This is an enzyme that splits solid fat into small particles and thus ensures its solubility. Fat dissolved through the injection is removed in the blood and eliminated naturally from the body. Injection application of Lipolysis is very effective for reducing small, local accumulations of fat that do not disappear through diet or physical exercise. APPLICATION OF LIPOLYSIS
The doctor will apply several subcutaneous injections of phosphatidylcholine directly into the problem areas. Application of Lipolysis is not demanding and takes only half an hour. You can go home immediately after the treatment and can perform your normal activities. Immediately after the application, redness and swelling will appear at the site of the treatment. The area is also painful and bruises can appear. After several days, the redness, pain and bruises disappear. The swelling may last longer. In the period following the treatment, we recommend that you exercise, drink at least two liters of water a day and take sufficient vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This will accelerate the loss of fat from your body.
RESULTS
Following performance of Lipolysis, the fat at the treated places begins to slowly dissolve and is excreted from the body. Lipolysis has the great advantage that the fat is removed evenly. It has also been found that the treatment has a favorable effect on collagen, leading to a firming effect on the skin. Injection Lipolysis is thus an interesting method for treating double chins and fat cheeks.
The final result of Lipolysis can be evaluated after two months. In order to achieve the optimum effect, it is usually necessary to perform two to four treatments at eight-week intervals. The result is permanent if the patient retains his present weight. A considerable increase in weight can lead to an increase in the volume of the treated places. Lipolysis does not have the desirable effect in a small group of people (about 5%). The results can depend on the blood supply and the structure of the fat tissue.
