Working with children has always been a great passion of mine.

I have specialised in paediatric physiotherapy since 1992. Over the years, I have worked in many outpatient clinics and also gained extensive experience working with hospitalised patients at Motol University Hospital. Professionally, this hospital provided me with valuable experience in caring for paediatric patients across several medical fields. Over the years, I have worked in neurology, neurosurgery, intensive care, oncology and internal medicine, and I have also had the opportunity to work with patients from orthopaedics, surgery, cardiology and psychiatry.

In 2011, I was given the opportunity to work at the Centre for Comprehensive Care for Children with Perinatal Risk. I remain extremely grateful for this opportunity to this day.

Looking back, I consider my experience across these different settings to have been extremely valuable, as it has given me the opportunity to work with children of different ages and with a wide range of diagnoses. In our work, it is essential to think ahead when assessing a child and planning subsequent therapy. It is important to recognise that some diagnoses unfortunately cannot be cured and may accompany patients throughout their lives, changing their clinical presentation and affecting their quality of life. That is why it is so important to consider all of these factors from the very first meeting with the child and their family, and to approach therapy with great sensitivity while remaining thorough and consistent.

During therapy, I use neurophysiologically based therapeutic approaches, primarily the NDT Bobath Concept, Sensory Integration, and Reflex Locomotion according to Prof. Dr Václav Vojta.
