Preventive Oncological Screening

Orthopaedic care at MY CLINIC

Orthopaedics is one of the basic surgical medical disciplines, dealing mainly with the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of disorders, diseases or injuries of the musculoskeletal system.

We take care of patients of all ages. We take care of paediatric patients from birth (neonatal hip screening, early diagnosis of developmental anomalies) to adolescent age associated with a number of diseases resulting from periods of growth and stress (such as sports). In adult patients, we solve problems based on overload or improperly performed daily stress, but also the degenerative diseases, the origin and development of which is supported by a number of risk factors from untreated injuries through overweight or gender disposition.

We help seniors to treat their diseases, the manifestations of which worsen over time and it is often necessary to intervene medically and surgically in order for the patient to continue to be able to live a full life.

It goes without saying that the care for acute and chronic patients is provided to all age categories and is based on the nature of the disease or injury. An integral part of treatment is prevention, conservative care and surgery.

We use modern knowledge, operating procedures and state-of-the-art techniques to help patients in the shortest possible time return to the activities they need and enjoy.
Our connection to other fields, such as rehabilitation, neurology, neurosurgery, sports medicine and others is a matter of course and a great advantage of care at MY CLINIC.

We are able to treat:

  • pain and restriction of movement
  • problems after accidents
  • joint pain (when moving and at rest), in tendons and muscles
  • limited motion which can be short-term or long-term
  • chronic problems

We recommend that you do not underestimate even minor problems and rather undergo an examination and agree on the optimal therapy. Neglected conditions can become much worse with some consequences becoming irreversible.

MY CLINIC Orthopaedics Team

The team consists of medical specialists in the field. In diagnostics and treatment, we use the most modern procedures based on evidence-based medicine.

We have various surgical options including arthroscopic techniques (knee, shoulder, ankle joint, but also hip, elbow joint or wrist), endoprosthetic surgery (replacement of hip or knee joints, including the unilateral - half replacement), treatment of post-traumatic changes and other musculoskeletal problems. In conservative therapy, in addition to standard means of anti-inflammatory or protective articular cartilage, we also use regenerative abilities and support of tissue healing by PRGF (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors) application, or the most effective visco supplementation (hyaluronic acid application) applied directly to the joint.

Precise application to joints or damaged structures in indicated cases is performed using ultrasound monitoring.

An integral part of our care is the interconnection and co-operation with a team of physiotherapists.

Standard Examination

The examination with an orthopedist begins with a conversation with the patient about his/her difficulties - how they arose, how long they last, how they manifest themselves and how they affect his/her life, work, sports and other activities in general. In order to determine the correct diagnosis, but also for adequate management of treatment, it is important to find out whether it is a consequence of an injury or a sign of long-term poor loading of a given anatomical structure.

This is followed by a thorough clinical examination - determining the resting state of joints and tissues, as well as their changes in dynamics and movement. The clinical examination is complemented by a series of targeted tests that can reveal the cause of the problem.

We complement the examination with auxiliary imaging methods (X-ray, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, CT examination, etc.) focused on deepening the information obtained from the previous examination that shows in more detail the extent of damage to individual dysfunctional units.

Based on the acquired knowledge, the diagnosis and adequate therapy are determined. According to the given difficulties, this usually includes the adjustment of movement patterns - targeted rehabilitation, "repair" of damaged structures - surgical treatment, supplementation of therapy - medication.

How shall I understand the diagnosis?

After the above series of examinations, the orthopedist will discuss with the patient the possibilities of solving the problems and suggest further treatment, acquaint the patient with the effectiveness of individual variants. When recommending the operation, the doctor will explain in detail to the patient the essence of the procedure, its duration, the time needed for subsequent regeneration and the realistic expectations for the condition of the musculoskeletal system after treatment. We consider it important that the patient learns in time and understands not only the extent of the damage, but above all receives information about what can be improved by treatment and what conditions are irreversible.
