MUDr. Ingrid Janíková
Chief Physician, Chief of Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Physicians
We provide comprehensive therapy for adults and seniors. We closely co-operate with other specializations within MY CLINIC, especially with general practitioners, occupational therapists, psychologists, neurologists and gynecologists.
Rehabilitation is an interdisciplinary field that aims at the optimal restoration of an individual's physical, mental, social and work abilities that have been reduced as a result of an accident or illness.
Rehabilitation medicine is an independent medical specialization that works closely with other medical disciplines, as well as with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, psychologists, podiatrists, speech therapists and social workers.
Physiotherapy is part of a comprehensive rehabilitation. It deals with the prevention and treatment of functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system. It is based on the knowledge of anatomy, physiology and biomechanics and is based on the latest knowledge about brain function in the control and learning of movement. Through movement and other physio-therapeutic procedures, it specifically influences the functions of other systems, including mental functions.
A good therapist views each patient as an original, as a "puzzle to be solved." He/she perceives functional disorders in context, because a problem in a certain segment of the musculoskeletal system can, in addition to local difficulties, cause disorders in the joints or soft tissues, often very far from the site of the original pain. Professor Lewit - the guru of the Czech school of rehabilitation - said: "He who treats where it hurts is forever lost."
Our goal is to actively involve every patient in treatment - to teach him to perceive his body and to prevent disease with the help of appropriate exercises.
The MY CLINIC rehabilitation team is composed of specialists in the field. We use the latest procedures and proven treatment trends. We place the main emphasis on an individual, psychosomatic approach to a rehabilitation plan tailored to each patient. In addition to individual physiotherapy, it also includes various modalities of physical therapy and the use of special aids.
The team leader is a rehabilitation doctor with an attestation in the field of Rehabilitation and Physical Medicine, Internal Medicine and is included in the pre-certification training in the field of psychosomatics. The team leader indicates and coordinates medical rehabilitation procedures. He/she performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, suggests and organizes rehabilitation treatment, prescribes drugs, applies injections, acupuncture. As part of her postgraduate specialization in myoskeletal medicine, she performs differential diagnostics within the framework of functional and structural changes in the musculoskeletal system. As a certified internist, she applies a holistic approach to the patient. She specializes in pelvic floor issues, psychosomatics, osteopathy, viscero-vertebral relationships.
