The Obesity Clinic at MY CLINIC focuses on the comprehensive treatment of overweight and obesity, conditions that place a significant burden on the body and can lead to a range of chronic diseases.

Obesity is a multifactorial condition, which is why it requires a long-term, structured, and individualized approach.

Treatment Approach

The foundation of treatment is based on four key pillars:

  • physical activity and movement
  • nutrition and dietary habits
  • pharmacotherapy (including modern prescription weight-loss medications when appropriate)
  • overall lifestyle changes, including sleep quality and stress management

Initial Assessment

The program begins with a thorough initial consultation with a general practitioner, aimed at evaluating the patient’s overall health and establishing an individualized treatment plan.

The initial assessment includes:

Medical History

A detailed medical history covering:

  • personal and family health history
  • work and lifestyle factors
  • weight development over time
  • dietary habits
  • physical activity
  • sleep quality and stress levels
  •  associated medical conditions (e.g. hypertension, diabetes, thyroid disorders)

Physical Examination

  • measurement of height and weight
  • BMI calculation
  • waist circumference
  • blood pressure
  • overall assessment of cardiovascular and musculoskeletal health

Body Composition Analysis (InBody)

Using specialized equipment, the analysis determines:

  • body fat percentage
  • muscle mass
  • total body water
  •  fat distribution

These results help create a more precise and effective weight reduction plan.

Laboratory Tests

Blood and urine tests are performed to assess metabolic health and identify any underlying conditions.

Individual Treatment Plan

Based on the results, individual goals are set, including:

  • target body weight
  • blood pressure levels
  • blood sugar and lipid levels

A personalized treatment plan is then created, which may include:

  • lifestyle recommendations (nutrition, movement, sleep)
  • cooperation with specialists (physiotherapist, nutrition specialist, etc.)
  • pharmacotherapy, if indicated

Course of Treatment

The basic program lasts 3–6 months, although long-term follow-up is recommended for sustainable results.

Follow-up visits are scheduled as follows:

  • first follow-up approximately after 1 week
  • then once per month
  • later adjusted individually (up to once every 3 months)

The treatment may also involve a multidisciplinary team depending on the patient’s needs.

Benefits of Treatment

Long-term treatment leads not only to weight reduction but also to:

  • improved blood pressure
  • better blood sugar and cholesterol levels
  • reduced need for medication
  • improved sleep quality
  • better musculoskeletal function
  • enhanced overall well-being

Pharmacotherapy

Pharmacological treatment is intended for patients aged 18 and older with:

  • BMI over 30
  • or BMI over 27 with additional risk factors

Medication is not covered by insurance and is paid for by the patient.

Our Goal

The goal of the Obesity Clinic is to help patients achieve sustainable lifestyle changes and long-term improvement in their overall health.
