Sonography or Ultrasound Examination

Sonography is a diagnostic imaging technique based on monitoring tissues in the human body using the reflection of high-frequency sound waves - ultrasound. Using the Doppler sonography we can also see the direction and speed of blood flow which can be helpful in detecting possible narrowing or occlusion of blood vessels.

The examination is non-invasive, completely painless and no adverse side effects have been demonstrated during its use in medicine.

pelvic area - uterus, ovaries and fallopian tubes in women, prostate in men
kidneys and their surroundings - urinary tract, bladder

Modern Equipment

At MY CLINIC we perform sonographic examinations in modern facilities using the latest technologies. We use Samsung MEDISON HS50 equipment which meets the highest safety standards and enables the attending physician to quickly see a high-quality display of examination areas.

Examination Procedure

You lie down on the examination bed and the examination area is covered with a special gel. The gel does not irritate the skin and you can easily wipe it off after the examination. The doctor moves the ultrasound probe smoothly around the examined area and monitors the image on the monitor of the device. During the examination, you may be asked to temporarily hold your breath, briefly not to swallow or to change your body position. At the end of the examination, the doctor prepares a report which he immediately sends electronically to the specialist doctor who requested the examination.
