I discovered my passion for urology when I was still in medical school. For more than 15 years, I have been performing standard urology screenings and examinations as well as outpatient surgery such as vasectomies, circumcisions, frenuloplasties, or cystoscopies, but also laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. To me, robot-assisted surgery appears to be the way to go, which will also lead us into a bright medical future. I was the first Czech to obtain a console surgeon certificate for the Da Vinci system for robot-assisted surgery, whose chief areas of application are prostate, kidney, and bladder operations. These procedures are less invasive, taking less time and speeding up recovery.
