What is RSV?

RSV (respiratory syncytial virus) is one of the most common causes of respiratory infections in infants and young children. Most children encounter RSV before the age of 2. For some, however, the infection can become serious – leading to bronchiolitis or pneumonia, often requiring hospitalization.

At MY CLINIC Pediatrics, we now offer vaccination against RSV with the Beyfortus antibody. This is a modern, long-acting monoclonal antibody that provides your child with passive immunity against RSV for the entire season – without the need for repeated doses.

Who is the vaccine intended for?

Newborns and children under 1 year of age at the beginning of the RSV season
Children under 2 years of age at increased risk of complications (e.g., premature babies, children with chronic lung or heart disease, etc.)

For newborns and children under 1 year of age before and during their first RSV season, vaccination is covered by public health insurance.
For children up to 2 years old after their first RSV season, the vaccine is available at a SPECIAL PRICE of CZK 7,000.
