Through a mini-invasive procedure under local anaesthesia, we are able to gently and effectively eliminate both spider veins and extensive varicose veins alike.
After a thorough initial check-up and a detailed ultrasound examination of both the surface and deep venous system, your vascular surgeon will first discuss with you the causes and aspects of varicose veins and then will treat them in a targeted manner.
At our specialised facility we treat varicose veins using either sclerotherapy or the gentle EVLA (endovenous laser ablation) method.
EVLA involves ultrasound-guided insertion of an optical fibre via a tiny puncture directly into the vein along the length that needs to be eliminated. The energy of the laser beam is converted into heat, which will eradicate the damaged vein. Hence there is no need to surgically remove the vein, and its healthy portions remain undamaged.
Sclerotherapy is quick injection-based therapy of small varicose veins and spider veins. A chemical solution is injected into the vein, removing its interior lining and breaking down the collagen structure of the vein wall. The vein walls then swell and stick together, sealing them shut, after which they are gradually absorbed by the body.
BOOK YOUR APPOINTMENT
The procedure is suitable for everyone, men and women, regardless of age, as long as there are no other serious illnesses.
Post-procedure restrictions are minimal. You need to constantly wear compression stockings for about 4 days, and then for another 10-14 days only during daytime. For three weeks after the procedure, you should avoid excessive physical exertion, intensive sports, saunas, and suntanning. Routine daily activities can be performed without any restrictions. The procedure can be performed at any time of the year, but due to the need to wear elastic stockings, it is better to avoid having it done during the hot summer months.
