Most weight-loss attempts start the same way: by purchasing a generic PDF meal plan online. But at MY CLINIC, Šárka Hodslavská takes a completely different approach. As a chemical engineer and certified nutrition therapist, she doesn’t just look at what’s on your plate — she focuses on what happens to that food inside your cells.
In this interview, she explains why blood test results matter more than willpower and why investing in long-term care delivers lasting results.
“I Don’t Just Count Calories — I Analyze Biochemical Responses”
You’re not the type of consultant who simply recommends “eat more vegetables.” You’re a chemical engineer. How does that technical perspective change the way you see a client’s diet?
My background in biochemistry gives me a huge advantage. I see connections between food composition and specific physiological reactions that most people — even many nutrition advisors — overlook.
Food chemistry allows me to understand how the body truly processes nutrients. Combined with my training as a nutrition therapist, I don’t just focus on calories — I focus on the body’s biochemical response.
I also continuously work with international research to apply the most advanced, evidence-based methods for healthy and sustainable weight loss at MY CLINIC.
Empathy Matters Just as Much as Data
Your journey into nutrition started with your own health challenges that doctors couldn’t fully resolve. Does this experience help you connect with clients?
Absolutely. Having gone through that experience myself, I deeply understand the emotions and frustrations of clients who feel like they’ve “tried everything” and are skeptical.
Empathy is just as important as data in my work. That’s why I take a comprehensive approach — I look beyond food and consider psychology, screening results, and the client’s full medical history.
Why Blood Tests Come Before Meal Plans
At MY CLINIC, programs don’t start with “What do you like to eat?” They start with blood tests and InBody measurements.
Why do you refuse to create a meal plan without data?
Because without understanding blood markers and body composition, a meal plan is just guesswork.
Every body is different — hormone balance, digestion, and genetic predispositions all play a role. I analyze parameters that are often overlooked in standard medical check-ups, such as detailed metabolic panels that reveal how your body stores fat and how active your metabolism truly is.
“Clients Don’t Have to Count Anything — They Just Live Their Lives”
Clients don’t need to calculate calories or macros. Everything is designed so they can simply choose meals and function in real life without stress.
Why Long-Term Programs Work
You offer 6- and 12-month programs. Why not just give clients a meal plan after one session?
A meal plan is just the starting point. I need to ensure the client understands it and, more importantly, how their body responds over time. The body changes — your metabolism adapts, stress levels fluctuate, and lifestyle factors evolve. That’s why our annual program includes 22 consultations, meeting every two weeks. This consistency is the key to achieving lasting results — not just temporary weight loss, but a true metabolic reset.
What Clients Really Gain
These programs are a significant investment. What is the greatest value clients take away after a year?
Beyond weight loss, it’s education about their own body. Clients learn how to eat in a way that works for them long-term — whether they’re at a restaurant, traveling, or under stress. This isn’t a “diet.” It’s a lifelong system. You gain energy, confidence, and a sustainable approach to health — something that cannot be measured in money.
